Everything I Need to Know I Learned From Professional Sports

By-Me

School is nice and you might learn something, life and experience can teach you, but all I ever really

Needed to know I learned from professional sports. Things I’ve learned are:

Winning isn’t everything, but that doesn’t mean it’s not important,

The laws of probability might catch up to you,

You have to stay one step ahead of everyone else,

Money, alone, does not win championships or anything else,

Curses can be broken,

You have to work to get what you want,

Sometime you have to throw the changeup,

Not everyone plays fair,

You might get intercepted,

Occasionally you might have to drop your gloves,

Keep focused,

Eventually you’ll strike out,

Sometimes it takes a power play,

White men can jump, sometimes,

Money should not be the determining factor, but for some people it is,

At some point you are going to lose, get over it,

Breaking a record doesn’t make you a hero,

Trade up,

Sometimes you should take a swing,

An eagle beats a birdie,

Play through the pain,

Color barriers can be broken,

Ted Williams, was a Splendid Splinter,

Don’t make stupid mistakes,

Injuries can occur, be prepared,

The best team doesn’t always win,

Don’t let the ball roll through your legs,

It’s NEVER just a game,

There is no such thing as luck,

And

Teamwork’s important, but the game might come down to you and one play.
